Overview:
The 3 Point Molly strategy focuses on placing basic bets while minimizing exposure to the house edge. The strategy revolves around three main bets: the Pass Line bet, the Come bet, and the Odds bet. By spreading your bets across different stages of the game, you can potentially increase your chances of winning while enjoying the thrill of the craps table.
The following Three Point Molly explanation makes the following assumptions:
- The table minimum bet is $10
- The table odds are 3:4:5
If you are unfamiliar with any of those terms above please visit our “Craps for Beginners” section
Bet 1:
With a new shooter coming out the puck will be in the off position (Black). This is the start of a new game. If you are unfamiliar with the different game section of craps please visit our basic level documents here.
Make your first “point” bet by placing the table minimum on the pass line, in this case $10. If the shooter rolls a seven or an eleven you will win your place bet 1:1. Place your winnings in your rack and leave the initial pass line bet on the table. If the shooter rolls a two, three, or a twelve then you will lose you pass line bet. Take another table minimum ($10) bet from your rack and place it on the pass line.
For any other number rolled, that will become the point and you will place odds behind your pass line in accordance with the table odds below:
- Point of 4 or 10 : Place $30 Odds (Pays 2:1)
- Point of 5 or 9 : Place $40 Odds (Pays 3:2)
- Point of 6 or 8 : Place $50 Odds (Pays 6:5)
Bet 2:
To establish your second point of the strategy place the table minimum bet ($10) in the COME box. This bet is identical as the place bet with the exception is it is for YOU only. So if the shooter rolls a two, three or a twelve you will lose you COME bet. In this situation place another table minimum ($10) in the COME box.
If the shooter rolls an eleven you will win the COME bet 1:1. Place your winnings in your rack and leave your COME bet in place.
If the shooter rolls a seven you will win your COME bet 1:1, however because a point has been established you will lose your initial Pass Line bet as well as you odds behind it.
For any other number your COME BET will travel to that number and it will become a personal point for you. At this point you will place odds in accordance with the table odds chart stated above for the Pass Line. As long as the number rolled is not the “Point”, this will be considered your second point of the 3 Point Molly System. However, if the shooter rolls the “point” number during this phase you will win your pass line bet and the odds behind it.
The puck will be turned off and a new Come Out roll with the same shooter will commence. In this scenario you would only have a single “point” since the table point is not established. During this new come out roll you COME Bet that traveled to your personal point is a working contract bet but your odds are considered Off. This means that if the shooter rolls a 7 you will get your odds returned to you but you will lose you initial COME Bet. However, if the shooter on this Come Out roll rolls that “Point” you will win the COME Bet 1:1 and the odds will be returned.
You can always tell the dealer that you want your odds to be working. In this case they would be paid out in accordance to the rate noted above for the PassLine.
Bet 3:
At this stage you the player will have two points established. The first one being the Pass Line Bet with Odds and the second one is a COME Bet with odds. To establish a third point follow the same procedure as bet 2. Place the table minimum ($10) in the COME Box. If the shooter rolls a two, three, or a twelve you lose your COME bet. If an eleven is rolled you win your COME BET 1:1. If a seven is rolled you win you COME Bet 1:1 but you will lose your Pass line bet and odds and you will lose your first COME Bet and odds.
If the shooter rolls a box number one of three things will happen:
- If the number rolled is the table point your COME Bet will travel to that number. Place odds on the bet according to the chart above. You will then be paid for the Pass line win as well as the odds behind. The puck will come off and the shooter will proceed to have a new Come-Out roll. Before this roll place a table minimum bet on the Pass- Line.
As with previous Come-Out rolls is the shooter rolls a two, three or a twelve you will lose you Pass line Bet. Replace the pass line bet with another table minimum. If the shooter rolls an eleven you will win. your Pass line bet 1:1. If the shooter rolls a seven you will win your Pass line bet but you will lose your 2 Come flat bets and the odds will be returned.
If the shooter rolls either one of you COMEBet numbers you will win the flat COME bet 1:1 and the odds will be returned. Place those returned odd behind the Pass Line odds and proceed to the start of “Bet 3” above as you will have 2 points established. - If the shoot rolls you COME Bet number you will be paid 1:1 for your flat COME bet as well as the odds placed will be paid with true odds. The dealer will same “Off and On” and your COME bet will remain in the COME Bet Box.
- If the shooter rolls any other box number your COME bet will travel to that number and you will place odds in accordance to the odds chart above. You will now have 3 point established. 1 table point and 2 personal points.
Three Points Established:
At this point you will now have completed the 3 Point Molly Strategy. If the shooter hits the table point you will be paid for you Pass line bet 1:1 and the odds will be paid according to the chart above.
If the shooter rolls either of your COME Points you will be paid 1:1 for the COME flat bet and odds will be paid according true odds based on the number rolled. This Come bet, Odds and payout will all be retured to you since there is no COME Bet in the COME box to do an off and on. In this situation proceed to the section labeled “Bet 3”
If the the shooter rolls a seven you will lose all three bets and their odds. In this situation the dice will be passed to the next player and the game will begin at the section labeled “Bet 1”
Conclusion:
The 3 Point Molly strategy offers several advantages for craps players. Firstly, it allows you to place multiple favorable bets on different stages of the game, this being the COME Out Roll, or after a table point has been established. This diversification reduces the impact of a single roll and provides opportunities for success.
Secondly, the strategy helps to minimize losses by avoiding some of the riskier bets with higher house edges. Lastly, by utilizing the Odds bets, you can potentially maximize your winnings without increasing your exposure to risk.
